Electrical Technician

JOB SUMMARY

Electrical Technician is responsible for keeping the electrical systems on the site operating efficiently and ensuring the safety of all systems.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION / Main Tasks & Duties

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Electrical Technician is responsible for conducting the following tasks:

Preventive maintenance for Terminal electrical and power electrical equipment (Transformers, switchgear, UPS, Motors, Lighting… etc.)

Investigate all issues reported related to electrical systems and perform proper action as reactive maintenance.

Support OMJ maintenance team in the investigation, maintenance and punch close out for ASTPP in electrical systems.

Perform routine corrective and preventive maintenance.

Assist other maintenance sections in case required.

Write routine reports and correspondence.

Install electrical equipment onsite and conduct repair whenever is needed.

Conduct daily inspections on all systems and report any potential issues.

Ensure that all required records are maintained.

Troubleshoot all electrical systems and make recommendations for upgrades, repairs, maintenance, etc.

Provide electrical technical support to all areas of the rig or site.

Maintain an adequate supply of parts for emergency repairs.

Follow up on all matters relating to work to achieve the best performance possible.

Any other reasonable duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

 

Diploma in Electrical Engineering (advanced certificate is a plus).

Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in the oil & gas industry or similar industry (refining, or terminal experience is preferred).

Very good communication skills both written and verbal
