Managing Director Message

Eng. Ashraf Al Rawashdeh
Managing Director

It is with great honor and gratitude that I express my sincere appreciation to the Board of Directors of the Jordan Oil Terminals Company (JOTC) for their confidence in appointing me as the Managing Director. I would also like to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt thanks to the previous administrations for their dedication and invaluable contributions, which have played a crucial role in positioning JOTC as a leader in the sector. Their efforts have paved the way for the company’s continued success and remarkable achievements.

Over the past few years, we have witnessed significant global and regional challenges that have impacted economic stability. Despite these challenges, JOTC has demonstrated resilience, achieving substantial growth in both revenue and profit. This success is a direct result of the unwavering commitment and hard work of our employees, as well as the strong, long-standing relationships we have built with our clients and partners.

At JOTC, we take pride in several notable accomplishments. Among them is the launch of our pioneering solar-powered Heavy Fuel Oil heating system, a key step toward achieving zero emissions and reinforcing our commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. In addition, the successful commercial operation of our photovoltaic energy projects at the Amman Strategic Terminal for Petroleum Products (ASTPP) and the Aqaba Oil Terminal (AOT) has significantly reduced carbon emissions and operational costs.

We are also in the process of establishing a high-standard laboratory in Aqaba to conduct testing on petroleum derivatives imported to Jordan, supporting both the Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) and the petrochemical sector. The laboratory will also be equipped to test petroleum products, lubricants from the government’s strategic stockpile, and potentially natural gas in the future. Bureau Veritas, a global leader in testing and certification, will operate the lab under JOTC's supervision, with operations expected to begin in the second quarter of 2025.

At the core of JOTC’s operations, we continue to uphold the highest standards of safety, health, security, and environmental protection. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to maintain and operate our facilities in line with the best international practices in the oil and gas industry, ensuring the continuous supply of petroleum products that are vital to Jordan’s needs.

In recognition of our commitment to excellence, JOTC was honored with first place in the King Abdullah II Award for Excellence in the category of small and medium service institutions in the private sector, as well as the Social Security Award for Excellence in Occupational Health and Safety. These accolades reflect our ongoing dedication to institutional excellence, quality, and customer satisfaction, while consistently meeting international benchmarks. Furthermore, JOTC proudly maintains ISO certifications for quality management, environmental management, and occupational health and safety (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001), reinforcing our commitment to maintaining the highest standards across our operations.

As part of our continued contribution to Jordan’s energy sector, JOTC has been entrusted with the official mandate to support the government’s Natural Gas Company. This initiative aims to expand the use of natural gas within Jordan’s energy mix, reduce national energy costs, create job opportunities, and develop local skills in the energy sector, all in line with the national Economic Vision.

In closing, I would like to express my sincere thanks to the Board of Directors, our dedicated employees, and our valued clients for their ongoing trust and support. Together, we will continue to build upon JOTC’s strong foundation, driving innovation and achieving new milestones for the future.
