Field Operator

JOB SUMMARY

The Filed Operator is responsible for the operation of all terminal equipment needed for the receipt, storage and loading of bulk petroleum products and other related processes while performing duties in conjunction (under high level of safety) with the control room under the instructions and supervision of the Operations Engineer in addition to understand the numerical concepts and having communication skills with the team members and other operational areas.

Responsibilities

The Filed Operator is responsible for conducting the following tasks:

  • Working outside in the terminal and is in constant communication with the Control Room Operator and Operations Engineer directly and/or by radio.
  •  Respond to request to initiate activities in the site, such as making manual adjustments to valves and equipment etc.
  • Observe local instruments, gauges, and meters to verify conformance to standard operating
  • Collect samples of various streams and delivers to external and internal stake holders when required.
  • Start and stop pumps, compressors and other equipment based on the direction of the control room operator
  • Ensure that the equipment is operating normally and that no unusual conditions exist while patrolling the site
  • Manually gauge tanks and provide information on product levels
  • Accompany Surveyors and visitors on to site and supervise their activities.
  • Responsible for preparing equipment for maintenance including isolation, draining, steaming, and other procedures as required.
  • Perform daily check and minor maintenance based on the check list etc.
  • Take appropriate actions in accordance with Control Room Operator and Operations Engineer in case of
  • emergency.
  • Become proficient in operating the field fighting equipment in the case of an emergency.
  • Carry out truck loading operations.
  • Responsible for any other related activity as requested by his/her direct Manager.
  • Follow up on all matters related to his job to achieve the best performance.
  • Any other reasonable duties as may be assigned.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Diploma degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • 3 years of experience preferable in the oil and gas sector
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Good mechanical skills in working with tools and instrumentation.
