Mechanical Technician

JOB SUMMARY

A Mechanical Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and overhaul of mechanical systems such as downhole tools, pumps, generators, motors, and turbines and involved in the design and development of machines, machine components and tools.

JOB DESCRIPTION / Main Tasks & Duties

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The mechanical Technician is responsible for conducting the following tasks:

  • Execute maintenance duties (Preventive/Corrective) as directed by the manager in charge.
  • Maintain tools and equipment required for maintenance tasks.
  • Inspect machinery in operation to assure proper functioning.
  • Assist in testing and troubleshooting of the equipment.
  • Assist managing tools, Consumables & spare parts related to mechanical department.
  • Supervise contractors performing mechanical jobs in the terminal to ensure compliance with HSE regulations and electrical procedures.
  • Assist in preventive & Corrective maintenance process.
  • Repair and Maintain Machinery
  • According to work priorities, he may assist other maintenance personnel with work that does not require his specialized knowledge.
  • When a Welder/Fitter is assigned, the Technician is responsible for all the work carried out by the Welder/Fitter.
  • Assists with investigation into equipment breakdown, contributes suggested corrective actions.
  • Carries out other reasonable duties as requested.
  • Follow up on all matters relating to work to achieve the best performance possible.
  • Follow up on all matters related to his job to achieve the best performance.
  • Any other reasonable duties may be assigned.

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • Diploma degree in Mechanic (advanced certificate is plus).
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in the oil & gas industry or similar industry (refining, or terminal experience is preferred).
  • Very good communication skills, both written and verbal.
