Sr. Electrical Engineer

JOB SUMMARY

Sr. Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, installing, and maintaining electrical systems which are used for processing at the terminal. The primary focus is on safety, reliability, quality, and sustainability. Of paramount importance is the responsibility to ensure that all activities comply with relevant company and industry technical and safety standards.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION / Main Tasks & Duties

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Sr. Electrical Engineer is responsible for conducting the following tasks:

  • Preventive maintenance for all terminal electrical and power electrical equipment (Transformers, switchgears, UPS, Motors, Lighting… etc.)
  • Investigate all reported issues related to electrical systems and perform proper action as reactive maintenance.
  • Support OMJ maintenance team in the investigation, maintenance and punch close out in electrical systems.
  • Perform routine corrective and preventive maintenance.
  • Monitor the performance of the electrical and electronic systems.
  • Ensure electrical and electronic systems meet statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure safe, reliable and environmentally responsible operations
  • Ensure activities comply with relevant company codes and standards
  • Design and specify new or replacement equipment
  • Report any breaches of safety procedures to management.
  • Execute daily electrical activities such as troubleshooting, maintenance, and checking equipment’s reliability.
  • Provide technical support to the site especially regarding to HV, MV & LV systems.
  • Perform electrical tests for critical electrical equipment’s as per the plan.
  • Perform routine corrective and preventive maintenance.
  • Responsible for issuing the warranty claims related to the electrical department after a proper study of the problems.
  • Prepare electrical department-related reports.
  • Follow up with ILF/OMJ to close project punch items.
  • Manage tools, Consumables & spare parts related to the electrical department.
  • Coordinate with planning engineer to update electrical maintenance summery, purchase requests & issuing store materials.
  • Supervise contractors performing electrical jobs in the terminal to ensure compliance with HSE regulations and electrical procedures.
  • Ensure application of work is done in accordance with maintenance procedures. 
  • Ensure that all activities are carried out in a safe and effective manner and that all interventions are controlled by authorized persons, satisfy statutory and Company standards and that no hazardous incidents or events occur.
  • Follow up on all matters relating to work to achieve the best performance possible.
  • Follow up on all matters related to his job to achieve the best performance.
  • Any other reasonable duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (advanced certificate is plus).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience preferably in the oil & gas industry or similar industry (refining, or terminal experience is preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Excellent computer skills– MSOffice, Office 365, understands the functionality of an ERP system
