Systems Admin Specialist

Job Summary 

Job Holder is responsible for all Information Technology and Digital Transformation operations and systems across all JOTC locations, ensure proper implementation and deployment within effective procedures and standards, installation, maintenance and upgrades on the JOTC’s IT network infrastructure.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization.

Manage Microsoft 365.

Install and configure software and hardware.

Manage servers and technology tools.

Set up accounts and workstations.

Monitor performance and maintain systems according to the company requirements.

Troubleshoot issues and outages.

Ensure security in coordination with network and security administrator through access controls, backups, and firewalls.

Train staff on new technologies.

Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes.

Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues.

Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure.

Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.

Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions.

Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance.

Set up user accounts, permissions, and passwords.

Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues.

Ensuring security and efficiency of IT infrastructure.

Ensure that our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.

Fixing software and hardware configuration issues for users on-demand or from inspection of the systems.

Follow up on all matters related to his/her job to achieve the best performance.

Any other reasonable duties as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or any related field (advanced certificate is a plus).

Solid IT background in the with a minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible experience.
