Technology and Operations Supervisor

 

Job Summary 

Job Holder is responsible for  Planning and leading Technology and  Operations department including all Information Technology and Digital Transformation systems across all JOTC locations, Ensure proper implementation and deployment within effective procedures and standards, Supervise IT Technology and Operations staff on daily basis to ensure that all tasks are completed as per international standard and timely Also make decisions regarding installation, maintenance and upgrades on the JOTC’s IT infrastructure addition to participate preparing IT&DT Budget and act as the liaison between IT and Digital Transformation director and Technology and Operations Team.

JOB DESCRIPTION

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise, Design, Implement, Install, Monitor, Maintain and Support IT Infrastructure Including Data Centers (On-Premises and Cloud), Servers (Physical and Virtual), Storage, Networking, Firewalls, Backup and Recovery, Availability and Security.
  • Ensure proper functionality of IT Infrastructure including Servers, storages, network, Workstations, laptops, desktops, cameras, access control systems, CCTV systems, Tablets and Mobile devices, Backup and Recovery, Printers and\or any peripheral devices along with developing and researching\implementing new technology.
  • Handle licensing requirements and the renewal processes of approved systems and track the usage to ensure that JOTC systems operate on certified structure.
  • Supervise and Lead IT Infrastructure Team including day-to-day tasks, developing staff and select needed training in accordance with JOTC policies and applicable laws.
  • Supervise day-to-day system administration and Helpdesk Services including installing and supporting laptops, desktops and printers, management of internal network, management of productivity tools, access control privileges, creating and managing users accounts on active directory and Microsoft applications (OFFICE 365) and other approved systems.
  • Participate in budget preparation, development and tracking of annual budget.
  • Contribute and provide inputs to the development of the departmental strategy and ensure effective cascading of departmental strategy into IT department support policies and procedures.
  • Supervise the effective achievement of IT department support objectives through setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing, and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal to maximize subordinate and overall performance.
  • Review proposed tasks and projects from proponent departments to ensure that the project is economically viable and suitable for the current requirements and needs of the company in order to make the necessary recommendations.
  • Evaluate requests for projects based on cost optimization and internal capability and plan in coordination with other project stakeholders to prepare project plans.
  • Monitor project progress reports and ensure that all schedules are on time to invoke efficiency in the projects.
  • Conduct technical evaluation and recommendation of tender proposals from participating vendors/contractors. Review and evaluate vendor’s hardware, software, and services offerings.
  • Ensure Implementing IT Infrastructure Policies and Procedures.
  • Responsible for researching and implementing ways that technology and network-based systems can increase company organization and productivity.
  • Accomplish information systems staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Supervise information systems results by auditing application of systems.
  • Enhance information systems results in identifying information systems technology opportunities and developing application strategies.
  • Safeguard assets by planning and implementing disaster recovery, back-up procedures, information security, and control structures.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or any related field (advanced certificate is a plus).
  • Solid IT background in the with a minimum of 7-10 years of progressively responsible experience.
  • IT Certification is a plus.
